This makes me angry, not only because the woman is depicted as a dog (which would equate to a Bitch, because there’s a white hand holding her back but also because whoever made this obviously has no sense of what black feminism is about.  If you’re going to talk about Black Feminism you’re going to talk about including black men in the movement, one of the differences that’s seen between the feminism and black feminism ideals. The “lift as we climb” mantra, and feeling as though if we’re going to progress as women, we must also progress as blacks, and that includes men. There were plenty of black feminists during the civil rights movement that made notable strides, but are often not mentioned!  This is just another cartoon that tries to delegitimize black women, our beliefs, and essentially who we are. We’re just vicious dogs being held back on a lash because were too wild, we bark too loud etc.
