Literally since Beyonce stepped back on the scene I’ve heard so many arguments about Black women’s respectability and “being a lady” and hella bullshit that basically says:
If you don’t respect yourself why do I have to respect you
Which translates to: I can rape women who I consider to be hoes because they don’t respect themselves anyway.
Which makes me suspect of you as being morally bankrupt.
Because I can walk outside and cross the street and be considered a hoe.
This is particularly in regards to black women.

What a classic ‘aww’ moment: #Beyonce and husband, #JayZ take a moment in Paris to dine with Blue Ivy.
Why Beyonce always carrying that child strange?
I. JUST. DIED. AT. THIS.
“someone come get this”
- Beyonce: *burps*
- Stans: Yes, bitch!!!!! Slay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You better kill the burp game, goddamnit!!!!!!! Keri Hilson who?????????????????? Seventeen Grammys!!! Ending careers and snatching wigs, it's nothing!!! You hoes can't take!!! Werq!!
- Beyonce: *burps*
- Haters: This bitch contributing to global warming. She ain't have that baby. Why she had to kick LaTavia and LeToya and LaHaterade and Leona Lewis out the group, though? Stupid bitch. She stole that burp. She ain't write that burp! This bitch can't act worth a damn. Burn in hell, Illuminati Priestess bitch.
Phil Lord's Open Letter to Jay-Z
I think this is an important read for people who are following this story. Just to gain insight about why some people may feel some type of way about Jay z and Beyonce’s travel to Cuba.
But I don’t agree with how the conservative politicians were all on their dicks about whether their trip was legal or not. I don’t think a pair of the most celebrated and recognized celebrities would make an illegal trip.
The Mrs. Carter tour
Some have been saying that Beyonce’s upcoming Mrs. Carter tour is anti-feminist because she took her husband’s last name for it…. *insert more dictating and policing of Beyonce’s personal choices*
But I’d like to quickly note that there was a time in history where Black women were not allowed to have “Miss” or “Mrs” on their names because of our supposed deviant sexuality (the Jezebel image).
So while you’re all busy being concerned about eurocentric ideological feminism, take a step back… and try to imagine the idea that a Black woman with agency wants to take advantage of something that was previously denied to us based on racist gendered beliefs.
Try to look at this as a “Slut Walk”. A reclaiming of sorts. A middle finger to racists everywhere that says “Yea I am sexual being and I am still a woman and not devoid of morality so I can call myself Mrs. Whateverthefuck and you will deal”.
Why Beyonce’s “Bow Down” is not anti-feminist
Praise be to Sesali!!
BlackBook talks about Beyonce’s amazing all-female band
One of the coolest things about Beyoncé’s live show won’t get nearly as much play as the impressive choreography or the light show or the ’90s-kid-Twitter-detonating reunion, and that is The Suga Mamas, Beyoncé’s all-female tour band, with whom she has been touring for years (as NPR’s Ann Powers helpfully pointed out, “not a gimmick”).
An all-female backing band may be part of her image and a very deliberate decision, but in an age where women playing rock instruments is still totally novel to a lot of people because most of America and the world is in a dumb time warp about stuff like this and women who are guitarists, drummers, etc. still have to “prove” themselves more than their male counterparts, to have The Suga Mamas on the biggest and most mainstream stage, performing to millions the world over, is really goddamn impressive, even if they were supporting one of the biggest names in music and of course they’d be there.
And leading this pack is Bibi McGill, who in addition to having a pretty incredible stage presence and complementing Our Bey well, can play like nobody’s business. It’s a shame people probably missed her playing because everyone was waiting so attentively to see if Destiny’s Child would show up, because it was boss. There were pyrotechnics. There was shredding. The planets aligned and all was well.

In the words of Beyonce
You must not know bout me, I can have another you in a minute.
King B vs. Queen B
I really like Beyonce. But I hate when people refer to her as King B rather than Queen B. Firstly, because she’s a woman and there’s no need to take away her femininity. Secondly, it just goes to show that people rank Kings above Queens, which is to say being male is a greater compliment than being a woman. This takes me back to a qoute in Full Frontal Feminism:
“What’s the worst possible thing you can call a woman? Don’t hold back, now. You’re probably thinking of words like slut, whore, bitch, cunt (I told you not to hold back!),skank. Okay, now, what are the worst things you can call a guy? Fag, girl, bitch, pussy. I’ve even heard the term ‘mangina.’ Notice anything? The worst thing you can call a girl is a girl. The worst thing you can call a guy is a girl. Being a woman is the ultimate insult. Now tell me that’s not royally fucked up.” — Jessica Valenti
Let Beyonce reign as a Queen!
